Run your own Innovative Learning Week event

Design and run your own event at our festival of creative learning and get up to £500 of funding.

Each February, the University hosts Innovative Learning Week (ILW). For five days, lectures and tutorials are replaced with an exciting array of creative and fun events. These take place online and on-campus.

This year ILW will run from 16-20 February 2015.

Get involved

Running an event in ILW2015 is the perfect opportunity to:

  • Develop transferable skills (great for your CV!)
  • Meet new people and work with top academic staff
  • Get up to £500 of event funding; plus support and advice to help your event run smoothly
  • Inspire others to learn in a way that’s different and creative

You could run an event by yourself, with friends or as part of a student society. If you have an idea for an event that may cost more than £500, why not contact a member of staff in your School? Collaborating with staff to run an event could allow you to access more funding.

Who can apply?

All current students, including Online Distance Learners. This also includes students in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Education who may be busy studying or on placement in February. Last year saw more evening events, and events run by students from across all three University Colleges. If you are a PhD student and you are employed by the University, please apply using the Staff Application Form and guidelines.

How to apply

Visit the ILW webpages to download an application form and guidelines. Send your application to the ILW email address below by 5pm on Monday 17 November.
