Gather Festival

Tai chi, chai tea and a football Tea Cup are all on offer as part of Gather, a new festival organised by the University of Edinburgh and EUSA.

Gather

Students from two thirds of the world’s countries study at the University. Gather is a chance to celebrate the vibrant and diverse community that this creates, focusing on different cultures and the idea of global citizenship within Edinburgh.

The festival runs from 14 - 22 March 2014, with over 40 events being held. These include:

  • A 5k parkrun along the promenade at Cramond
  • Dance workshops, performances and taster sessions
  • Language cafés
  • ACT! A Festival for Social Change, plus other workshops on using crafts to make a difference

Fancy a cuppa?

Tea is renowned for bringing people together around the world, and so many of the events have a tea theme.

Students and staff will be competing in sporting events to win the “Tea Cup”, while tai chi and chai tea taster sessions will be held in Bristo Square throughout the festival.

You can also meet with friends for your own tea gathering. Use the hashtag #gatheruoe to share photos of your event for the chance to win an amazing Gather giveaway.
