Design the trophy for top engineering prize to win £2000

The Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering is inviting young people to design an iconic trophy for the next winners of this prestigious £1 million global prize.

Finalists will see their designs prototyped using 3D printing. The winner’s prototype design will be developed into the finished trophy and presented to the winners of the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering in 2015. The winner will also receive a prize of £2,000.

About the QEPrize

The QEPrize is the world’s pre-eminent engineering prize. Launched in 2011 and awarded for the first time in 2013, the QEPrize celebrates the engineers responsible for a ground-breaking innovation in engineering that has been of global benefit to humanity. The first prize was shared by the five engineers who made seminal contributions to the development of the internet and worldwide web.

How to enter

You must be aged 17-24 to take part. An app had been created specifically to allow entrants to create their designs in a 3D online environment. This is free and available on the QEPrize website.
