Honorary Professor: Alexei Kudrin

Alexei Kudrin has been made an Honorary Professor in the College of Humanities & Social Science.

Professor Kudrin is Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at St Petersburg State University.

He has published more than 30 research articles on economics and finance, and regularly delivers lectures at universities throughout the world.

He has a Candidate of Economic Sciences degree (1988), equivalent to a PhD in economics, from the Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Economics.

From May 2000 until September 2011 Professor Kudrin served as Finance Minister of Russia. He was named Finance Minister of the Year 2010 by 'Euromoney' magazine and Finance Minister of the Year 2004 by 'The Banker'.

From 2000 to 2003 and from 2008 to 2011 he was Russia's Deputy Prime Minister. In 2005 he was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.

Before joining national government, Professor Kudrin worked for St Petersburg's city government as Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Committee for Economy and Finances.
