Result: Senate academic elections

Elections to the University’s supreme academic body, Senate, have now concluded and new members of Senate will take up their roles on 1 August.

We look forward to welcoming our new members and working with them to support the successful delivery of the University’s academic mission.

Candidate elections

An election was held to determine successful candidates in the following categories:

  • Elected academic staff (non-Professorial) in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Science
  • Elected academic staff (non-Professorial) in the College of Science and Engineering
  • Elected academic staff (non-Professorial) in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine

There were fewer nominations than vacancies in the Professorial category across all Colleges and therefore all nominees were elected unopposed.

Next elections

Vacant academic staff member positions on Senate open for election annually. The next elections will take place in semester two, 2025, and we will communicate in advance of that date how staff can put themselves forward to become members.
