Impact Festival booking open

The inaugural University of Edinburgh Impact Festival will take place on 28–30 May.

The Impact Festival will celebrate the engagement and impact of the University’s research. It’s aimed at the University research community, including researchers and academic colleagues at all career stages from PhD to professorial levels, and technical and professional services staff involved in enabling research.

A programme of 28 events will feature colleagues from across the University and provide an opportunity to learn from the successes and challenges that colleagues experience. Topics discussed will range from working with partners to develop impact, influencing policy and practice, maximising impact from fundamental and interdisciplinary research, and co-creating impact with artists, and with communities.

The full festival programme is now available for booking:

As a University, we're committed to maximising the impact of our research, applying our ideas, insights and findings to benefit society and the planet. Our recently adopted Research and Innovation Strategy sets out our priorities for engaging with partners across industry, policy, practice, and the public.

To support our goals, we have invested in impact across the University. This includes enhanced support for industry engagement, policy engagement, and public and patient involvement. It’s through these various investments and initiatives such as The Impact Festival that we hope to further strengthen the University’s already vibrant culture of innovation, creating an environment in which engagement and impact are supported, valued and rewarded.

Christina Boswell,

Vice Principal Research and Enterprise

The first Research Impact Prizes awarded by the University will be presented at the Celebrating Impact event on 30 May, compered by broadcaster and comedian Susan Morrison.
