Senate elections: results

Election results to the University’s supreme academic body, Senate.

Elections to the University’s supreme academic body, Senate, have now concluded, with the new members of Senate taking up their roles on 1 August. We are looking forward to welcoming those new members to Senate and working with them to support successful delivery of the University’s academic mission.

Candidate elections

An election was held to determine successful candidates in the following categories:

  • Elected academic staff (non-professorial) in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences to be elected for a three-year term
  • Elected academic staff (non-professorial) - College of Science and Engineering for one, two and three-year terms

There were fewer nominations than vacancies in all remaining categories and therefore all nominees were elected unopposed.

Term of office elections

An election was held to determine terms of office in the following categories:

  • Elected academic staff (professorial) - College of Science and Engineering for one, two and three-year terms

Next elections

Vacant academic staff member positions on Senate open for election annually. The next elections will take place in Semester 2, 2024, and we will communicate in advance of that date regarding how staff can put themselves forward to become a member of Senate.
