Expertise
Prior to joining the University, Louise was a solicitor in private practice for over 20 years and a trusted adviser to clients in the education, professional and insurance sectors. She is accredited as both a mediator and a professional negligence law specialist, with expertise across a broad range of legal issues and has many years’ experience of advising the university sector.
Strategic Importance
The role of General Counsel and Director of Legal Services is a senior post of strategic importance to the University. Louise will provide advice and guidance on a wide range of legal issues, while leading our in-house Legal Services team and managing external legal support where necessary.
I am delighted to take up this appointment with such a prestigious institution. I am particularly looking forward to being able to contribute to the University’s strategic goals and in doing so, embracing its values around research, teaching, and social and civic responsibility.
