Short courses for staff and students
Discounts are available for staff and students for courses on the University’s 2022/2023 short course programme.
Run by the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Open Learning, the programme offers courses across a range of subjects, including languages, business, history and the arts. Courses are open to all, both within the University and the wider community. While most courses run for 10 weeks, on campus, there are some options to take an online course or to get a taste of a subject over a day or two. A new set of intensive language courses, which will run over three weeks from the end of August 2022, is also included this year.
Some complimentary places and discounts are available to staff and students:

- All Centre of Open Learning colleagues are entitled to one complimentary course which can be taken per academic year. Please note only one complimentary placement can be given per course:

All courses are taught by our experienced, knowledgeable and friendly tutors who are passionate about their subject area and supporting students through all stages of their learning.
Places on the courses are awarded on a first come, first served basis so it is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
