New campaign showcases investment in student support

The University is investing in improving our support for students, starting this semester.

In changes being rolled out throughout this academic year and next, specially trained staff, academics and fellow students will work together to provide support for students’ studies, their personal wellbeing and practical day-to-day issues.

Many new students will have a Student Adviser as their first point of contact for help and guidance. Most returning students will still have a Personal Tutor, with the roll-out of student advisers coming in 2023.

Everyone studying with us will have access to our new Wellbeing Advisers, for support on any issues that affect their health, wellbeing or personal life.

Students will also have regular contact with the people who teach them, including an academic Cohort Lead, for support with their studies and for programme-related guidance. Networks of fellow students will provide peer support.

Students can visit our Student Support webpages for more information about what’s happening and how it affects them, as part of wider work to publicise the changes to new and returning students during Welcome Week and beyond.

Staff can find FAQs, latest news and an overview of the changes by College on SharePoint.
