Senate election results announced

Nominations for Senate, the University’s supreme academic body, have now closed and the results have been announced.

As a result of the restructuring of Senate for 2020/21, a large number of positions for academic staff were open for election this year. Nominations opened on 5 February 2020 and have now closed.

The number of nominations received for Senate was fewer than the number of vacancies, and therefore the nominees have been elected unopposed.

Congratulations to the 86 new members who will take up their roles at Senate on 1 August 2020.

Elections for vacant academic staff member positions within the Senate occur annually, and the next elections will take place in Semester 2 of 2021.

Further information on the election results and a list of the newly elected members of Senate is now available on the Senate website.
