Flying the flag for the University of Edinburgh, colleagues from ISG successfully won the Attraction and Resourcing Award at the event held in Glasgow.

This award recognises the achievements of ISG’s impressive student recruitment programme, which has created 300 student internships across the department in the last 12 months alone.

ISG internship programme

The focus on student recruitment has been in place for the last four years, and ISG have introduced specific programmes to recruit and support students into data, digital and IT jobs during the summer or as part time workers throughout the year.

Students are able to take on various roles across the organisation such as web developers, IT trainers, help desk staff or data analysts. Working alongside specialist and experienced staff members, students are able to gain valuable employability skills while providing ISG with a crucial student perspective on their services.

Ambitious plans

This impressive programme is set to grow, as the University’s Chief Financial Officer has set a target to employ at least 500 students over the course of each academic year, contributing considerably to the University’s Youth and Student Employment Strategy 2017-2021.
