REF 2021 code of practice: staff consultation

The University is holding staff consultations on a code of practice for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF).

As part of the REF 2021 exercise, the University must develop, document and apply a code of practice on determination of who is an independent researcher and the selection of outputs for the University’s submission. 

The University is currently seeking input from academic staff on a draft version of this code.

Staff are encouraged to first read a staff consultation document prior to reading the draft code of practice.

Both of these documents, and additional information about the consultation (and REF 2021 more generally) are available on the University wiki.

Consultation events will be held across the University during the week commencing 21 January 2019, with details available on the University wiki.

The deadline for responses to the consultation is noon on Thursday 31 January 2019.
