Christmas closure 2019
Reminder that the University will close from 5pm on Tuesday 24th December 2019 until 9am on Monday 6th January 2020.
As previously communicated in December 2018, University buildings will close for this period and staff are required to take leave, unless the Head of School or Professional Services department has made alternative arrangements.
Those functions providing a service during this period will publish their opening times separately.
Public holiday dates
The designated public holidays for all staff will be:
- Wednesday 25 December 2019
- Thursday 26 December 2019
- Wednesday 1 January 2020
- Thursday 2 January 2020
Closure dates
There are four closure dates during the festive period that will be taken from your annual leave entitlement.
Taken from 2019 annual leave entitlement:
- Friday 27 December 2019
- Monday 30 December 2019
- Tuesday 31 December 2019
Taken from 2020 annual leave entitlement:
- Friday 3 January 2020
We are closing Friday 3 January to avoid the need for a ‘one-day week’.
Christmas closure for 2020/21 will be confirmed in due course.
