Online staff disability training now available

An online course has been launched to increase understanding of disability, and identify how reasonable adjustments can be made in the workplace for staff with disabilities.

The University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team is behind the new e-learning module, called Implementing Reasonable Adjustments.

Training overview

The training outlines legal responsibilities, gives guidance on what needs to be considered when deciding if an adjustment is reasonable and gives examples of cases and types of adjustments.

All staff are encouraged to complete the training, which is available here: https://edin.ac/2y3p1oj

Why is it relevant?

The Equality Act 2010 requires employers to make reasonable adjustments to remove barriers for disabled people.

Implementing reasonable adjustments are an important way of enabling staff with significant and long-term challenges to reach their full potential in the workplace and to contribute on an equal basis.
