Take part in surveys for staff in research

Research staff and Principal Investigators at Edinburgh are invited to take part in two biennial national surveys.

The Research Staff Survey and the Principal Investigators and Research Leaders Survey are being run by the University’s Institute for Academic Development until Wednesday 10 May 2017.

Research Staff Survey

If you are a member of research staff, and employed primarily to conduct research, you should complete the research staff survey.

This provides an opportunity to provide information on working conditions, careers aspirations and development opportunities from your perspective of working as a researcher at Edinburgh.

Principal Investigators and Research Leaders Survey

If you are a Principal Investigator or are principally responsible for setting the intellectual direction of research, you should complete the Principal Investigators and Research Leaders Survey.

If you are personally responsible for the management of research staff and/or the supervision of postgraduate researchers, you should also complete this survey.

Staff notification

The surveys launched on 29 March 2017.

The Institute for Academic Development emailed access details to research staff and Principal Investigators on Monday 27 March with a link to the relevant survey.

If you think you are eligible to take part in one of the surveys but did not receive an email, please contact Nicola Cuthbert via n.cuthbert@ed.ac.uk
