Staff Benefits Scheme (SBS) consultation
Consultation on proposed changes to the University of Edinburgh Staff Benefits Scheme.
The recent triennial valuation of the University of Edinburgh Staff Benefits Scheme (SBS) identified a substantial deficit. As a result the University undertook a full review of the Scheme, and considered a range of options to ensure the Scheme remained attractive to staff, but affordable and sustainable for the future.
Consequently, the University is currently consulting with active and prospective members of SBS regarding proposed benefit changes, to take effect from 1 January 2017.
The Statutory Consultation period commences 1 August 2016 and ends 29 September 2016.
All affected employees will receive a formal consultation pack giving more details. In addition a series of presentations are being held around the campus, and more information can be found on the Pensions website below.
