Sustainability Awards: deadline nears

Entry for the University's annual Sustainability Awards is open until Friday 20 March.

The awards are an opportunity for staff and students to earn recognition while contributing to the University's social responsibility and sustainability.

They are run jointly by the Department for Social Responsibility & Sustainability and EUSA.

Any staff team can enter, with incremental criteria for bronze, silver and gold awards.

There is an online toolkit for participants, to encourage action and record achievements under a variety of themes. Teams receive support throughout the process from the Department of Social Responsibility & Sustainability.

Special Awards

Entries and nominations are particularly encouraged for one of five Special Award categories:

  • Environmental Improvement Award
  • Social Responsibility Award
  • Outstanding Personal Contribution to Social Responsibility and Sustainability
  • Outreach Award
  • Best Student Initiative

Review and ceremony

Trained student volunteer auditors will review teams' entries during late March and early April.

The Sustainability Awards 2014/15 will be presented on 22 April at a ceremony in the Playfair Library, Old College.
