Chance to 'get connected'

Research and academic staff who are new to the University are invited to attend a welcome day and networking event.

Hosted by the Institute for Academic Development, 'Get Connected' will be held on Tuesday 20 January.

The informal event will provide newcomers the opportunity to find out about the University and the various support and resources available to them.

It is open to researchers, academics and Chancellor's Fellows.

Discussion and insight

Get Connected will feature round-table discussions on career development, research funding applications, engagement, impact and consultancy, information services and teaching skills.

It will also offer:

  • insights from senior academics;
  • information about PURE, the University’s research information system;
  • information about Mentoring Connections, an HR/Institute for Academic Development-led mentoring scheme;
  • the chance to get a professional profile photograph taken.

Lunch and coffee will be provided, and a drinks reception will be held 5pm-6pm.
