Published bimonthly, the newsletter aims to keep Edinburgh staff and students informed about matters discussed and decided on by Senate and its Standing Committees.
The current edition includes an update on the University’s emerging vision for learning and teaching, and reports from the most recent Senate and Standing Committee meetings.
Regular meetings
The Senatus Academicus (Senate) is the University’s senior academic body.
Its core function is to regulate and superintend the teaching and discipline of the University and to promote research.
Senate delegates specific responsibilities to four Standing Committees:
- Curriculum and Student Progression Committee
- Learning and Teaching Committee
- Quality Assurance Committee
- Researcher Experience Committee
The Senate and its Standing Committees meet regularly throughout the year.
Information on meetings (including dates, papers, agendas and minutes), remits and progress can be found online.
