Pensions scheme: update
Staff are advised that the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is considering pensions reforms.
Draft proposals to reduce the scheme's substantial deficit are being reviewed.
Edinburgh employees on grades UE06 to UE10 are eligible to be members of this scheme.
Overview
University and College Union (UCU) has notified the University that it is balloting its members for industrial action in response to any proposed changes.
USS members and potential members are encouraged to refer to two briefing documents that have been prepared by the Employers Pensions Forum (EPF), which provides information on pension schemes offered by higher education institutions.
