Sign up and share

As national Liftshare Week (6-10 October) approaches, staff are encouraged to join TripshareEdinburgh, the University’s free car-sharing scheme.

Part of the UK-wide Liftshare network, TripshareEdinburgh is a private initiative for University staff and students, and links drivers and passengers online.

The scheme is free to use, and after entering journey details and finding matches, members share only the costs of travelling.

Collaborative project

Liftshare Week will host a range of events, including a prize draw for new and existing TripshareEdinburgh members.

The week complements Changing Habits for Urban Mobility Solutions (CHUMS), a wider collaboration between the University, Liftshare and the South East of Scotland Transport Partnership (SEStran).

The EU-funded project is testing a range of measures to encourage more car-sharing across Europe.

The University is the only organisation in the UK that is implementing and testing these measures.
