New look for University website

The design of the University’s website has been refreshed.

The new look and feel introduces a lighter, brighter layout designed to reflect the University’s commitment to excellence in innovation.

The introduction of a number of new elements will also improve the navigation for site visitors.

Improvements include:

  • increased space for imagery and branding
  • flexibility in presentation of front-page templates
  • use of more white space
  • better readability of font colours, sizes and weights
  • a revamp of the homepage, including a direct link to the MyEd portal, a reworked video panel and greater prominence for the University’s digital channels

Collaborative approach

Colleagues from the University Web Programme and Communications and Marketing teams have liaised with more than 100 Polopoly web editors to create the new design.

More than 250 websites that are managed using the Polopoly content management system have been refreshed.

These changes are part of a larger scale overhaul of the University’s website.

Delivery of a new content management system is planned for 2014.
