Industrial action: information

Nationally, University and College Union (UCU), Unite, Unison and Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) members have voted in favour of strike action on 3 December 2013.

Pay and pensions issues

Staff who take strike action will not be paid for any day they are on strike.

The calculation of a day’s pay will be 1/365th of annual salary and the deduction will be made from the November salary payment.

Pension contributions will not be affected.

Staff who are not members of a trade union but still do not wish to cross a picket line will be considered to be on strike (unauthorised absence), in which case they will not be paid for that day.

Action Short of a Strike (ASOS)

Staff represented by UCU will be aware that action short of a strike commenced on 1 November 2013.

This does not affect any other trade union members.

Staff with any questions about this communication should contact their line manager or local HR team.
