Staff news

Staff webinar programme launches

Human Resources has launched a new staff development webinar programme.

The first webinar in the programme was delivered on 11 October.

Staff from across the University participated in a presentation and lively discussion around the topic Handling Difficult Conversations.

User friendly

The new webinars use the Collaborate virtual classroom system to allow participants to access the presentation, chat and ask questions and use the interactive whiteboard to flag up key issues prior to the session.

To take part, staff members just need access to a computer and a set of headphones.

Schedule

More webinars are planned to complement the existing face-to-face staff development provision.

This mode of learning will provide opportunities for staff at different sites to access bite-sized, accessible learning, without having to travel any distance.

Further webinars in the programme are:

  • Induction: 27 November 2012, 12.30pm to 1.30pm
  • Difficult Conversations: 22 February 2013, 12.30pm to 1.30pm
  • Understanding Performance Management: 19 March 2013, 12.30pm to 1.30pm
  • Introduction to Writing a Business Case: 25 April 2013, 12.30pm to 1.30pm

Staff can book places through MyEd or the Learning and Development home page.
