Procurement team nominated

The University of Edinburgh’s procurement team has been shortlisted in the 2011 THE Leadership and Management awards.

It has been nominated in the Outstanding Procurement Team category, along with five other UK university procurement services.

The team was also shortlisted in the same category in 2010.

Highlighting achievement

The THE Leadership and Management awards highlight the achievements of the teams involved in running UK universities.

This year’s winners will be announced at a ceremony on 16 June.

Strong year

The University was rated as ‘superior’ for procurement by the 2009/10 Scottish Government Procurement Capability Assessment.

The result marked the end of a strong year for the University procurement team.

The University’s procurement efficiencies totalled £7.8 million.

The team’s expertise was also sought externally by Queen Margaret Universty and Borders Council.
