Pay negotiations progress

An offer has been made to the higher education trade unions to progress the 2011/2012 pay negotiations.

The Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) met with the unions last month to further discussions relating to pay (UOE grades 1-10).

Employer offer

The employers’ offer is a flat rate increase of £150 on all spine points of the 51-point pay scale.

This represents an overall 0.5% increase to the total pay bill.

In addition, the employers have offered to work with the trade unions on a number of other issues including equality, pay data and training and development.

Awaiting response

The trade unions are in the process of considering the offer.
