Rectorial nominations

The nomination process for the role of Rector at the University has officially opened.

The Rector is responsible for chairing the University Court, the University’s governing body.

Staff and student support

Rectorial elections take place every three years.

Candidates for the post must gather at least 40 signatures from University staff and students in support of their nomination.

Nominees must provide written confirmation accepting the nomination, as well as confirmation that they are not disqualified from acting as a trustee of a charity under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.

Nominations should be lodged with Dr Alexis R Cornish, by noon on Monday, 9 January 2012.

Election dates

The election will be held online from 9am on Wednesday, 8 February until 7pm on Thursday, 9 February 2012 using the University’s web portal MyEd.

Some members of staff, such as those who do not have access to the web, may be eligible to apply for a postal vote.
