Introduction

The Rector chairs the University Court and is elected for a period of three years by students and staff of the University.

The 2009 Rectorial Election was conducted online from 9am on 11 February until 7pm on 12 February 2009.

The winner was Iain Macwhirter, who will be officially installed as Rector in March.
