Bite-size learning for lunch

HR has launched a new series of Brown Bag training, offering staff fresh opportunities to develop new skills during their lunch hour.

Launched in 2009, these sessions offer bite-size training on management topics.

US inspiration

Inspired by US-style staff development techniques, participants are invited to bring their lunch to the session, prompting the name ‘Brown Bag’.

Topics to be covered in future sessions include coaching conversations, motivating your staff and time management.

Specific dates for these events are as follows:

  • Continuing Professional Development (29 November 2011)
  • Coaching Conversations (11 January 2012)
  • Records Management – the implications of data protection and freedom of information legislation (10 February 2012)
  • Time Management (21 March 2012)
  • Motivating your staff (18 April 2012)
  • Effective one-to-one meetings (11 May 2012)
  • Giving effective feedback (6 June 2012)

All booking are made using MyEd.

Staff like the quick and clear format, which is ideal for providing a refresher on a topic or for introducing key ideas to those who are new to the concepts covered.
