Senate membership nominations

The University is seeking candidates for election to Senate membership.

This call for nominations is open to Academic research staff and university demonstrators.

Nominations should be made by noon on Tuesday 20 April.

Eligibility

There are a number of vacancies on the Senate for members of staff who fall within the category of academic research staff or university demonstrators.

Part-time and full-time research staff and demonstrators who have held a contract of employment with the University since 31 January 2010 are eligible for membership.

This call for nominations is not aimed at non-professorial staff, including lecturers, senior lecturers, and readers.

Nominations for staff in these categories are put forward by the Colleges.

The nomination process

A copy of the nomination form and further information is available from the Senate website.

Nominations must be signed by a proposer and a seconder.

Permission should be obtained from the nominee prior to submission.

In the event that the number of nominations received exceeds the number of vacancies to be filled, a poll will be conducted.

Should such a poll prove necessary, the date of the election will be Wednesday 5 May 2010.
