MSP commends green effort

MSP Dr Bill Wilson has praised the University of Edinburgh for its achievements as a higher education leader in sustainability policy.

The politician challenged other Scottish universities to follow its lead.

Earlier this year, the University earned a first-class ranking in the People and Planet Green League.

It was also ranked as the third best in the higher education sector by sustainability benchmarking programme Universities that Count.

I want to congratulate the University of Edinburgh for its performance, to encourage it to keep up the great work, and most importantly, to urge other Scottish universities to use Edinburgh as a role model for looking after our environment.
