The service will take place on Sunday 13 November at 10:15am at the Playfair Library, Old College, South Bridge.

The event is being organised jointly between the University and Heriot-Watt, Napier and Queen Margaret universities.

The service will be conducted by chaplains to the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University.

All welcome

Staff and students from the city’s universities – alongside family, friends and members of the public – are invited to attend.

Those attending should be seated in the Playfair Library Hall no later than 10.10 am.

A collection in aid of the Earl Haig Fund will be taken upon arrival.

Commemoration

Units on parade will be the City of Edinburgh Universities Officers Training Corps, the Royal Naval Reserve and the East of Scotland Universities’ Air Squadron.

The Pipes and Drums of the Universities Officers Training Corps will also be in attendance.

Two-minute silence

At the end of the service, the Services contingent will form in the Old College quadrangle to observe a two-minute silence.

This will be followed by the laying of wreaths at the University’s war memorial.
