Applying to Degree Programmes
UCAS is the UK agency for undergraduate admissions, and you need to apply online through UCAS for all full-time degrees. During the Access Programme, your Personal Tutor will help you complete your UCAS form and provide an academic reference for you. This is done before the end of semester 1 to meet the UCAS deadline. On your UCAS application, you may be able to apply to other universities as well as the University of Edinburgh.
The Access Programme is supported by the University and we will work with you to receive an offer of study. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be made a university offer.
Entry Requirements for Degree Programmes
Each degree programme will have its own entry requirements. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with them ahead of application.
Offers from the University of Edinburgh are likely to ask for students to pass all the courses on the Access Programme and achieve an overall average of 55% or above from your Semester 2 courses. If you require Statistics for your chosen degree programme, you will also need to pass this course with at least 50%.
Applicants for Art and Design degrees also need to submit a digital portfolio of their work to the University by the end of January. This is assessed and if your portfolio is successful, you will also need to pass all the courses on the Access Programme and achieve an overall average of 55% or above.
Other universities might make different offers – we will be able to answer your questions and help you to choose which offer to select if this is the case.
