The University Library offers the following digitisation and scanning services.
Cultural Heritage Digitisation Service
The Cultural Heritage Digitisation Service produces and makes accessible high quality images, scans, videos, and 3D models of rare and unique research collections acquired or created by the University of Edinburgh.
The E-reserve Service scans chapters and articles on behalf of course organisers, copyright law permitting, for use in teaching.
University Collections Facility Thesis Scanning
The Library offers an in-house scanning service for users requiring copies of University of Edinburgh theses for theses not available in the Edinburgh Research Archive.
Accessibility Scanning of texts is available to students through the University's Student Disability Services department.
uCreate Studio is located on the 1st Floor of the Main Library, and are the University of Edinburgh’s Community Makerspace. They offer equipment, advice, training, and support to help students make (almost) anything.
The uCreate Self-Service area is located on the 1st Floor of the Main Library, and offers students the chance print their own posters, use design software, and scan film and documents to high resolution.
Self-Service Photocopying is available at multiple locations within the Main University Library, and throughout the campus.
