A Gathering of Leaves

A showcase of the prizewinning and selected bindings from the Designer Bookbinders International Bookbinding Competition 2022 will be traveling to Edinburgh this Autumn. Responding to the theme of plants and gardens to help celebrate the 400th anniversary of the opening of the Oxford Botanic Garden, a selection of bindings chosen from 150 entries will be featured in the exhibition. Designer Bookbinders is one of the foremost societies devoted to the craft of fine bookbinding. Founded over fifty years ago it has, by means of exhibitions and publications, helped to establish the reputation of British bookbinding worldwide. Since 1975 the society has supported the Designer Bookbinders UK Bookbinding Competition which aims to encourage apprentices and students of bookbinding, and anyone else who enjoys making books.
