Infection Medicine is part of the School of Biomedical Sciences within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.  It was founded on the basis of collaboration and cooperation and we have a long history of performing collaborative research projects with centres around the world.  The Division is a key partner within the Edinburgh Infectious Diseases network.

There are ten research group leaders, a number of whom are also directors and organisers of MSc and undergraduate Honours programmes, and a further 50 research and teaching staff, students and visitors at Little France, with clinical and associated prinicipal investigators based in other University centres, NHS departments and partner organisations working on division-led projects.

Our staff have disciplinary backgrounds in genomics, virology and immunology, clinical medicine, chemistry, informatics and engineering.
