Equality, diversity and inclusion
The School of History, Classics and Archaeology is dedicated to valuing and celebrating diversity, and ensuring equality for all staff, students, and visitors.

We are committed to creating a community which is inclusive and respectful of all our staff and students, and their lived experiences. We recognize that staff and students may experience multiple intersecting exclusions based on characteristics such as race, gender, sexuality, age, class and disability. As individuals dedicated to the study of the human past, in all its forms, we also acknowledge the strong ties between past histories of colonialism, racism, and violence, and our contemporary experiences. We also believe that equality, diversity and inclusion are essential to the future of our disciplines. It is in this spirit that we have initiated a process of decolonizing the curriculum across our school.
