Launch of the Global Nursing Leadership Programme

Nursing Studies to partner with new groundbreaking Harvard Global Nursing Leadership Programme.

Harvard’s Global Nursing Leadership Program launched in November 2020. An initiative jointly governed by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Harvard Chan School), Harvard Kennedy School, the HarvardGraduate School of Education, in collaboration with the African Union, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the World Bank and other partners.

This groundbreaking educational and leadership program directly addresses multiple factors essential to global public health security, including a critical and escalating nursing shortage and the COVID-19 pandemic. Inspired by the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration of 2020 as the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, and responding to recommendations in the WHO’s State of the World’s Nursing Report, The Harvard Global Nursing Leadership Program illustrates a renewed commitment to supporting, educating, and strengthening the nursing and midwifery workforce around the world.
