Clinton Global Initiative University Network 2017 Application Information Session

CGI U is a growing network of young leaders who are developing innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Clinton Global Initiative University 2017 will take place at a leading university in the USA. CGIU commit to releasing a date 'shortly'.

President Clinton hosts the CGI U meeting each year for students to create innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Since its inaugural meeting in 2008, CGI U has brought together more than 6,500 students from over 135 countries.

This will be the 4th year that University of Edinburgh has participated at Clinton Global Initiative University.

Applications to attend the Clinton Global Initiative University Network can be made directly to the Clinton Global Initiative University Network.

To be considered for admission, all applicants are required to make a Commitment to Action. A Commitment to Action is a concrete plan that addresses a pressing challenge in one of CGI U's five focus areas: Education, Environment and Climate Change, Peace and Human Rights, Poverty Alleviation, or Public Health.

Commitments are new, specific, and measurable initiatives that address challenges on campuses, in local communities, or around the world. Since 2008, CGI U attendees have made more than 4,000 commitments. Whether they are manufacturing wheelchairs for developing countries, establishing campus bike share programs, creating free vision clinics, or mentoring youth through chess, CGI U participants are improving the lives of people around the globe and building a stronger future for us all.

 

FUNDED PLACES Funding is available to support attendance at CGI U and delivery of Commitment to Action. Students accepted to attend the Clinton Global Initiative University 2017 will be invited to apply for funding.

The University of Edinburgh is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative University Network (CGI U) - matriculated UoE students from any discipline or year of study are now invited to participate in the 2017 application round!
