Learning and Teaching Spaces

The team acts as liaison for learning and teaching spaces, audio visual and timetabling initiatives for the University of Edinburgh Estate; this includes shaping and leading change in working practices and driving increased space utilisation across the University.

They also act as the Learning & Teaching Estates representative on the Space Strategy Group, and any other associated Committees or Groups where appropriate. They ensure effective engagement on understanding the requirements for change for the benefit of the University. With the ultimate aim of developing and delivering departmental strategy, operational plans and cultural change in terms of the Learning and Teaching spaces. This includes:

  • Liaising with the student community, Academic colleagues and Professional Services on all projects with a learning and teaching aspect
  • Developing standards and good practice for various teaching spaces styles
  • Coordinating the annual Teaching Accommodation Improvement Initiative – a rolling programme to improve centrally managed teaching space.
