The iTPA translational funding pathway

Funding early-stage projects

iTPA funding

The iTPA includes a complete early-stage funding pathway. From stimulating new ideas with the Translational Innovation Competition, through enabling early proof-of-concept with the Springboard Fund, supporting more advanced proof-of-concept with the Accelerator Fund and enabling the development of impact-driven projects with the Impact Fund.

We focus on and are keen to hear from postdocs (please discuss with your PI first) early career researchers and those new to translation. We encourage collaboration or interaction with clinicians, the NHS and industry from as early as possible. We are interested in projects with a clear clinical or commercialisation potential but balance this with projects that have the potential to impact human health and wellbeing in other ways.

Candidate projects can be considered for any stage of the pathway and get added support throughout to progress to the next translational step by securing more external or internal funding, as well as develop establish or further develop clinical and/or industry collaborations.
