2012 postgraduate Prix du Québec

Harriet Kennedy, a first year PhD student in the Centre of Canadian Studies, has won the 2012 postgraduate Prix du Québec.

Harriet is researching Québécois Bande Dessinée and nationalism with a thesis entitled "Québécois Bande Dessinée: A Quiet Revolution." Her research is a socio-political and semiotic exploration of Québécois Bande Dessinée (comic strips) that aims to offer new insights into key moments in the struggle for Québécois independence.

This year, the prize marks the 50th anniversary of the Quebec Government Office in London. The Agent General for Quebec, M. Pierre Boulanger, presented Harriet with the prize at the 2012 British Association for Canadian Studies Conference in Cambridge.
