Renewed support of the Confucius Institute for Scotland from China and Scotland

On 6 June 2012, a conference at the Signet Library, Parliament Square, Edinburgh brought together important figures from Scotland, Europe and China.

Welcomed by Prof Dorothy Miell, Vice Principal, University of Edinburgh, Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond and Chinese Ambassador Liu Xiaoming were present at the conference and attended a signing ceremony in which University of Edinburgh Principal Professor Sir Timothy O'Shea and Mme Xu Li, Director-General of Hanban, signed a Memorandum of Agreement that commits both sides to continue to support the Confucius Institute for Scotland.
