Data Interface Unit

The Data Interface Unit (DIU) acts as a key distribution hub for signal and networking between the cabin based systems and the wing pods.

The Data Interface Unit (DIU) provides core functions for time synchronisation via GPS PPS and Network Time Protocol (NTP), general networking and control connectivity , as well as linking the cabin based systems with instruments in the pods (via interconnecting cables). The DIU is mounted to the rear of the cockpit front wall (behind the pilot side seat) using existing attachemnt points.

  • Rugged USB Hub
  • Actisense NBF-2-A NMEA GPS Buffer
  • CSI AM416 Relay Mulitplexer (connected to CSM-CR1 datalogger)

The Data Interface Unit (DIU) mounted to the front wall of the rear cabin area. Connectivity is provided for network, USB, GPS/PPS outputs, GPS antennae and specialised system connections.
