Please share your school, glow, or Microsoft Teams email address with us. We will not accept private, non-school email addresses.
We work with 79 schools across 8 Local Authorities so we typically can only offer one talk or one workshop to one school per school year. Let us know what you would be interested in.
Talks can be delivered to individual classes from S4-S6 or all Senior Phase pupils interested in the subject areas art, design, or architecture. Please select the topics you'd like the ACES Team to cover when visiting. You can choose between a more detailed talk about a specific aspect or request a less detailed overview combing all topics in one talk.
We don't currently offer other workshops. If the options above don't work for your S4 class at the moment, keep an eye on our ACES Teacher Newsletter. Sign-up option below. Please read through the workshop descriptions below for more information.

Surreal Collage (Double Period)

During this workshop, pupils will create collaborative collages and learn about Surrealism. Your S4 class will also be introduced to the artist Sarah Jarrett who alters figures within her collages to convey emotion and explore themes of identity and beauty.

Personality Patterns (Double Period)

Your S4 class will be introduced to the artworks of Lubaina Himid who uses clothing and patterns in her work to represent identities. Using a block printing technique, pupils will create a motif for a pattern based on their own personality traits, as we consider how we use clothing and pattern to express our personality.

Paper Costumes (Double Period)

Learning from ideas of Bauhaus costume, this workshop invites students to create paper costumes based on everyday objects. S4 students will learn about character development and consider the impact of living in a time when objects are built to perform human tasks.

Location Sculptures (Double Period)

This workshop will teach S4 students 3D modelling techniques to make Plasticine sculptures of locations. Looking at how a variety of artists and architects are inspired by location, students will make sculptures which draw from memories and imaginings of different places.

We're now fully booked for spring and summer. We will release dates for August onwards as soon as we can and you can still submit the webform with a date in August and beyond that would work for you. You can also opt to get notified once more dates have been announced. Please select any day that would work for you. You will be able to share the best time of day with us and we'll arrange this with you via email and during our pre-visit meeting. We're a small team and currently only have the dates listed available. However, you can suggest an alternative and we'll be in touch about feasibility.
We offer to deliver workshops to one S4 class of up to 20 pupils. There is no limit on talks. To help us plan, please let us know how many pupils you anticipate to attend.
This is an opportunity to discuss the upcoming visit and answer any questions you may have. We will send you the details for an online Teams meeting. You won't need to have a Microsoft Teams account to join. Please let us know what day and time would suit you best. This may help us arrange the meeting with you more quickly. Jasmine works Mondays and Tuesdays. However, we will do our best to accommodate other days if need be.
You can also use this space to share whether you or your pupils have any individual requirements or additional support needs that you think we should know.
