University hosts Fairtrade pioneers

Staff will be able to sample coffee from the UK’s largest 100 per cent Fairtrade hot drinks company this month.

As part of a UK tour, Cafédirect will visit Scotland for the first time and will stop in Edinburgh for 10 days.

Operating from a mobile shop made from an upcycled shipping container, Cafédirect will be offering coffee samples from East Africa and Peru.

The ethical hot drinks company works in partnership with more than 40 grower organisations across 14 developing countries.

Over the past decade, it has ploughed £3 million of its profits back into producer organisations and businesses.

The Cafédirect shop will be installed behind the Dugald Stewart Building in Charles Street from 20 August to 30 August.
