Entry requirements and applications

Standards of admission are high and entry to the programme is very competitive.

To apply, you must be a medically qualified doctor.

You then need to be accepted by a host clinical department or laboratory, where you can carry out your research, and by the programme director.

The research project you carry out will be largely determined by the skills and expertise of the group you join. There is no need to put a great deal of detail in the research proposal section on the generic university application form.

We are committed to offering a high-quality experience to all our students. We are working to minimise the impact of Covid-19, but we have reluctantly decided that we will be unable to offer this programme for entry in 2020. We anticipate that this degree will be available again for entry in September 2021, but we are not currently in the position to confirm that.
