Edinburgh BioQuarter announces first round winners of innovation competition
Edinburgh BioQuarter today announced the shortlisted entries for the BioQuarter Innovation Awards 2011.
These companies were selected from a field of 23 entries submitted by researchers at the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian over the past six months.
The shortlisted companies are (in alphabetical order):

The quality of entries for this inaugural competition has been excellent. Concepts like these form the basis of Edinburgh’s growing reputation for medical commercialisation, building on its world renown for research in a variety of health-related disciplines.
These successful company concepts will be presented to a second independent panel of judges chaired by Dr Walter Nimmo, founder of Inveresk Clinical Research. The winner and runners-up will be announced at an awards lunch in central Edinburgh on 7th July 2011.
