Knowledge Exchange Week 2024

The University of Edinburgh Library and University Collections division will host its Knowledge Exchange Week from 27th-31st May 2024.

KEW 2024

Following on from the success of our previous Knowledge Exchange Weeks, we are delighted to announce that we will be hosting our fifth programme, which will run from 27th until 31st May 2024.

The University of Edinburgh's Knowledge Exchange Week will provide a unique opportunity for library and cultural heritage professionals from all backgrounds and career stages to learn about the University's work in these areas and to share knowledge and best practice with colleagues globally.

The focus of the 2024 programme will be the ‘Open Library’ and will incorporate the Edinburgh Open Research Conference. The conference is in its third year and provides an opportunity for people across the UK and further afield to come together to discuss open research principles.

Throughout the week there will be opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences on a wide range of topics, including: -

  • Open Research practices

  • Opening up our collections through digitisation

  • Leveraging cultural heritage collections for institutional change

The programme will provide a general insight into the work of library and collection staff and offer an exciting opportunity to gain a hands-on insight into our work in libraries, archives and museum collections.

We invite applications from professional library staff currently employed in universities or other research libraries.

How to Apply?

Applications for 2024 have now closed.

Costs and Accommodation

Participation in the scheduled programme is free of charge, with the exception of some evening events which will be optional and, where stated, are at participants' own expense.  Accommodation and travel costs will also be at participants' own expense.
